Our First Ultrasound!

So this may be hard to see but there is a baby inside of me! It's super tiny! I had my first doctors appointment which went well besides the way too long wait. I like my doctor and am looking forward to shorter visits from now on! The baby is doing well, the heart is beating strong (182bpm) and my next ultrasound is sceduled in 4 weeks. The ultrasound confirmed my due date to be June 6th... so just what we expected! We are super excited if you can't tell by all the explination marks!

Music

Anyone else who knows Alex and I know that our taste in music is far from being alike! This makes for an interesting situation in car rides especially. A couple weeks ago when we were traveling to and from Utah, we tried to find music that we both like. The selection consisted of 3 cds! Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody, Bicycle, Somebody to love...one of their greatest hits cds- it's great!); Bon Jovi's Have a Nice Day cd and then Josh Groban's Awake cd. Some of you may be surprised to hear the Josh Groban part, but Alex loves music in other languages and since Josh Groban usually has 2-4 different languages on his cds, Josh Groban is okay in Alex's eyes! I enjoy listening to Josh Groban mainly because his music is very relaxing and often uplifting.

Long story short, one of my favorite songs by him is "Don't Give Up, You Are Loved" If you are in the mood to be uplifted... definitely check out this video. (hopefully it works!)

What's Expecting at the Nelson's!

Great New News! After the confirmation of a home pregnancy test and a doctors pregnancy test... the results came out postive. Alex and I are expecting a baby! This may be a big surprise to many of you because we were originally planning on waiting a year, but the Lord helped us to decide that waiting a year just wasn't necessary. We are very excited for the news and can't wait for all the excitement that this will bring. I'm only about 5 weeks along, so I still have a long way to go, but I'm looking forward to every bit of it. I'm feeling okay, I haven't had any "morning sickness" yet, but I've heard that sometimes it starts a little later! We'll see! I do get a little tired, but currently I'm so busy throughout the day that I push myself through it and sleep SUPER well at night! As for Alex, he's doing great. We both feel overwhelmed at times, but we both are thrilled that we get to be parents! Life sure is great!
