A mommy's Love

Today has been "one of those days"(do I need to say more?). Now, I don't want to complain because I know it could be a lot worse, but everyone is allowed to have a tough day every now and then! Right? Well the only reason I am posting about this is because I found a way to turn around my day and it has given me motivation to be happy and keep on going.

It's during difficult times when we often doubt ourselves or certain aspects of our lives, but my hope for myself, and for everyone, is that we can find the quickest way out of the darkness. I've been reading an awesome book I found at my grandma's house titled, "In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. I LOVE this book. In addition to my scripture study, this book gives me a daily reminder of what is most important in this life- my family!

Today I was reading in the chapter titled, "How Stay-at-Home Moms Benefit Kids". Dr. Laura frankly talks about how silly she thinks the debate on "day-care vs. mommy care" is and how no one can take care of a child better than it's mom. Duh! That makes sense, but I loved the way it was explained by one of Dr. Laura's listeners, "Nobody, nobody could ever LOVE my child and take care of him the way I do- NOBODY EVER!"

This is Brooklee, my daughter. Here she is giving me her "Sassy" face. Something she likes to do a lot recently. Especially when she is going to do something she knows she shouldn't do! This morning may have been full of these sassy faces, but I am her mommy and no matter how hard it gets, nobody can love her better than me. I like that thought. It helps me desire to be a better mommy!

If you need another mommy booster- check out this video- Motherhood:-An-Eternal-Partnership I've posted it on my facebook, but it too makes you appreciate being a mom.

Carissa is getting to be challenging somedays too, but your right, it's the most rewarding job too! If someone is going to teach my kids, I want it done right! :-)

It sure has been one of those weeks! It's really nice to hear that I'm not the only one that sometimes questions if I'm really able to handle mommyhood. It is hard (especially on sassy days). Thanks for the pick-me-up.
